Top Questions and Answers
WHY DOES MY SYSTEM TURN ON AGAIN?
If you are experiencing multiple start times, longer than expected run times, or your system keeps starting unexpectedly, you may have inadvertently set multiple start times. Multiple start times in a program can be used for separate watering cycles throughout the same day, but often you'll only need one start time per program.
WHY DOES THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM CONTINUES TO RUN AFTER THE CONTROLLER IN OFF POSITION
There are two reasons why your sprinklers would continue running:
-
It's possible your valves have been opened manually. You'll need to locate your valve box(es) and turn the solenoid(s) clockwise until snug. The solenoid is located on the top of the valve and looks like a cylinder with two wires protruding out of it.
-
It's also possible that there is debris in the valve, which is causing the valves diaphragm to remain open.
WHAT KIND OF MAINTANANCE DOES A SPRINKLER SYSTEM REQUIRE?
Maintaining your sprinkler system is important to the growth and longevity of your system. Proper winterization includes flushing the sprinkler lines so they don’t freeze in the winter. In the following spring, your sprinkler system will need to be reactivated. Our experienced service technicians will examine your irrigation system each spring ensuring it is in tip top shape.
Water seeps from one sprinkler. Is there something wrong with the sprinkler?
No. Water will drain through the lowest head until the pipe empties. If the seepage does not stop, the problem could be with the valve that controls that sprinkler zone. The problem could be as simple as a small piece of debris inside the valve.
